Jacob Mireles

Development Associate

At IAVA: Jacob joined IAVA in December, 2023 to assist
with development and to provide support to the IAVA team in
furtherance of IAVA’s mission to serve and empower our
post-9/11 veterans.

Professional Background: After obtaining his BA in
Oboe Performance at the University of North Texas, Jacob
moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue his dream of
being a studio musician. Through a series of fortunate
events, Jacob’s career path changed when he was offered
the opportunity to work as personal assistant to an Academy
Award winning actor.

Since then, Jacob has had the privilege to work in service to
UHNWI as a personal assistant, estate manager, and project
manager helping to coordinate operations and organize
events. Jacob recently relocated to Washington, D.C. to
assist the IAVA team with development. Jacob has worn
many hats over the course of his career, and it is his goal to
constantly learn and grow.

More about Jacob: Jacob grew up in a military family
and has lived in nine states and three continents. During his
time in Germany, Jacob started learning German and went
on to study it for five years. Outside of work, he enjoys
playing the oboe in community bands, traveling to new
places, and listening to podcasts.

Jacob’s father, a US Air Force veteran, instilled in him the
Air Force Core Values, “Integrity First, Service Before Self,
and Excellence in All We Do.” Jacob was taught to carry
these values beyond the Air Force and into all areas of his
life. It is with gratitude, and these principles in mind, that he
strives to be of service at IAVA on behalf of those who have
sacrificed so much for our nation.

Ask Jacob about: Why he’s grateful for growing up in a
military family, what states and countries he’s lived in, and
what other instruments he plays.

Support Our Efforts
