Take Action

RESTORE GI BILL BENEFITS FOR BLACK VETERANS

The GI Bill Restoration Act (S. 3257 / H.R. 1255) would help repair the economic harm experienced by Black World War II veterans and their families who were denied full access to GI Bill benefits.

It would allow the family members of Black World War II veterans to access the VA home loan guarantee, provide educational assistance benefits, and establish a study to fix inequities in how benefits are given to female and minority members of the Armed Forces.

Keep America’s Promise to Afghan Allies

American veterans remain deeply troubled by the chaotic exit by the U.S. from Afghanistan in the summer of 2021. Nearly all of the Afghans who partnered with us during the war were left behind.

It is imperative that we pass into law a means to ensure our Afghan allies are able to gain the legal status in the U.S. that we promised them. Tell your Senator to vote YES on a critical amendment to the National Security Act, 2024, supporting our Afghan allies.

EMPOWER VETERANS WHO WANT TO USE MEDICAL CANNABIS

88% of IAVA members surveyed support the additional research of medical cannabis to help them face war injuries such as PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury. IAVA is dedicated to fostering a national conversation on the need for bipartisan, data-based solutions that can bring relief to millions.

We need YOU to urge Congress and the Biden Administration to enact the bipartisan VA Medicinal Cannabis Research Act (S. 326/ H.R. 1003) so the VA can conduct research into the efficacy of medical cannabis as a treatment for veterans with chronic pain, PTSD, and other conditions.
