New York, NY – On Thursday, October 21, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) will partner with The Mission Continues to host a live event on service projects and other initiatives for veterans and their families to participate in to make an impact within their greater communities. These opportunities include: sharing information about IAVA’s annual member survey, IAVA’s upcoming Veterans Day SAV March, volunteering with The Mission Continues in local communities for Veteran’s Day, IAVA’s 24/7 peer support and care management program, and more.

IAVA’s Associate of Government Affairs Kaitlynne Hetrick will be joined by Miguel Vazquez, Program Advisor at The Mission Continues to discuss the importance of getting involved and making a difference through volunteer and community events.

“Engagement opportunities are integral ways for veterans to help one another and our broader communities at large,” said Kaitlynne Hetrick, Associate of Government Affairs at IAVA. “In partnership with The Mission Continues, IAVA is excited to share the many ways to get involved and make a difference in our communities through both of our organizations.”

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, through this important conversation about service over the next 20 years,” said Mary Beth Bruggeman, president of The Mission Continues and Marine Corps veteran. “Both of our organizations are deeply aligned on the value and importance of veterans’ continued service and are equally committed to finding ways for them to connect, advocate, and engage with service-minded veterans to grow a movement of veteran leadership in this country.”

Together, they will address the collaboration between IAVA and The Mission Continues, and promote upcoming opportunities and service projects to better the communities in which they live. The event will have time allotted for questions from the viewers.
