Direct services fall under the following categories:
“I received an eviction notice and had no idea what to do, where to turn or how to navigate this very daunting process. I reached out to IAVA’s veteran resources and very quickly learned about the best steps to take, how to get help, who to reach out to and exactly what I needed to get me and my family out of this situation. Without this help, I never would have been able to access the right resources at the right time, and gain the confidence to become empowered to access help and prevent my family from becoming homeless.”
“I had been struggling with employment for far too long and honestly had gotten to the point where I had given up. I heard about IAVA’s resources and when I reached out I was provided with exactly the information I had been searching for. I learned great tips about resume assistance, networking and was even able to get connected with the amazing veteran specific employment services that met my needs and helped me land my dream job.”
“For far too long I have been struggling financially. I can never seem to get all of my bills paid and I used to live in constant fear of homelessness. But then I found IAVA’s resources and for the first time I feel empowered to put my life back together. They helped me with budgeting, financial coaching and pointed me in the right direction so I could access the cash assistance I needed to get back on my feet.”
“Transitioning out of the military has not been easy for me. I’ve been confused about where to look for help, how to look for help and what kind of help I needed. When I reached out to IAVA’s resources I learned more about my GI Bill education benefits. They gave me the tools and resources I needed to get enrolled in school and use my benefits. I am now able to better focus on my future and attack my challenges head on with the confidence I need to finally meet my goals.”
“IAVA empowered me to understand that reaching out for help is not a weakness!! Thanks to the upfront resources and information I am now connected with a variety of supports that are truly making a difference in my life. Thank you for showing me what’s out there! You’ve made the biggest impact on my life since I left the military.”
“I have been frustrated for years by the VA system and just needed a roadmap on how to successfully access care. But I couldn’t find one. Until I found IAVA’s resources. Their team provides the exact resources, information and steps to take to get to where you need to go. And it felt really good to get the help I needed so I could accomplish the rest on my own!”
“I was completely overwhelmed by my legal issues by the time I found IAVA’s resource help. I had made some calls and reached out to a few contacts, but I really had no idea what to ask and where to look. They helped me find exactly what I needed to get connected with the legal representation that best fit my situation.”
“I have been trying to access resources for my wife for many years. She served in the Army and has struggled with mental health, physical health and employment issues. Thankfully we were finally able to get her connected to the help she needs. Once she got the help it hit me that I’ve been struggling all these years too. And it wasn’t until I connected with IAVA’s resources that I realized how hard it’s been to find support for myself. Thank you for showing me that there are resources out there for me too! I’ve been able to connect with a support group and I feel empowered to focus on myself and my own health, which has truly been life changing for our family.”
