Read: Weekly #SheWhoBorneTheBattle Sitrep – April 14

Members of Congress are back in their states and the IAVA DC Team is busy engaging Capitol Hill staff. IAVA members throughout the country are meeting their Congressional delegations in their hometowns next week to make a BIG push on the #SheWhoBorneTheBattle campaign for women veterans. We need your help too though. Go to IAVA’s Take Action page to let your Members of Congress know that you support the Deborah Sampson Act for women veterans. Here are some highlights from this week:

  • IAVA Chief of Staff, Allison Jaslow, was interviewed by Kristen Welker, White House Correspondent for NBC News about the IAVA #SheWhoBorneTheBattle campaign.
  • IAVA Founder and CEO Paul Rieckhoff participated in a roundtable for Veteran/Military Service Organizations held by Defense Secretary James Mattis at the Pentagon.
  • Paul Rieckhoff joined Zack Rosenburg, Co-Founder and CEO of the Saint Bernard Project (SBP) for an lunch event to discuss urgent veteran issues impacting former service members in Louisiana.
  • Met with the offices of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and other Congressional offices on the Deborah Sampson Act for women veterans.
