New York, NY – On Tuesday, March 22, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America’s (IAVA) Executive Vice President of Government Affairs, Tom Porter, will sit down with PhRMA’s Deputy Vice President, State Policy and External Outreach, Sharon Lamberton, to discuss healthcare for our nation’s veterans.

The conversation will cover top-line healthcare-focused findings from IAVA’s most recent annual membership survey, overlapping healthcare issues in the veteran community, COVID-19, gender health-equity, and the research and development of therapies for diseases impacting veterans.

“There have been many developments in the veteran health space lately, especially with the recent House passage of the Honoring Our Pact Act,” said Porter. “This event will be an essential continuation of the veteran healthcare conversation where we cover our community’s top health priorities and what we can collectively do to achieve them.”

“As a nurse and a wife of a former Navy captain of 34 years, I am proud to work for America’s biopharmaceutical research companies that recognize the service of our veterans and those currently on active duty,” said Lamberton. “With currently more than 4,500 medicines in development, the industry is committed to improving the lives of all patients, including our servicemembers.”
