Support Linda Stanley's Efforts
We can’t do this alone, we need your support to ensure that VA provides service to veterans who gave everything for this country.
Tell us a little about you outside of the military:
After retiring from the Air Force, I became a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the VA. I also volunteer with Guide Dogs of America TLC, providing service dogs for veterans.
Why are you joining the IAVA Cavalry?
I have seen firsthand the positive impact that advocacy can have for veterans through IAVA. I am eager to continue serving by addressing veterans’ issues and working towards policy changes.
How did your military experience shape you to be the person you are today?
My military experience instilled in me a strong sense of integrity and a commitment to serving others.
Which one of IAVA’s policy priorities do you believe is the most pressing? Why?
Mental health issues are the most pressing priority for me. I have lost several patients to suicide or overdose, and I also lost three fellow service members to suicide. Additionally, I was exposed to burn pits in Balad and am dealing with health issues as a result.
Which one of IAVA’s policy priorities do you have the strongest personal connection to? Why?
I have a strong personal connection to issues affecting female veterans. In addition to the mental health concerns I’ve experienced and witnessed, addressing the specific needs of female veterans is crucial to me.
