Post-9/11 Veterans Attend Super Bowl LII
NEW YORK, NY (February 3, 2018) — Today, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the leading voice of the Post-9/11 generation of veterans, is proud to announce that Iraq war veteran and IAVA Executive Director Allison Jaslow, and Afghanistan veteran and IAVA Board Member Adam Clampitt, will represent IAVA at Super Bowl LII in Minnesota on Sunday, February 4, 2018. The two Post-9/11 veteran leaders will attend the game as guests of the USAA Salute to Service Super Bowl experience to honor the sacrifice and service of veterans and military across America.
Jaslow and Clampitt were invited by two-time NFL Pro Bowler and Washington Redskin Vernon Davis, and will meet with Davis ahead of the Super Bowl. Jaslow and Clampitt will carry the IAVA mission to connect, unite and empower veterans to the national stage as the Patriots take on the Eagles.
“I am honored to attend the Super Bowl to represent IAVA’s 425,000 members nationwide, thanks to the generous invitation of NFL Pro Bowler Vernon Davis and USAA. I look forward to a great weekend representing the Post-9/11 generation of veterans in Minnesota and advocating on behalf of IAVA’s mission. We at IAVA continue to be especially grateful to USAA for always having veterans backs, this big game day and every day,” said Allison Jaslow, IAVA Executive Director.
Allison Jaslow, a native Virginian and lifelong Washington Redskins fan, served two combat tours in Iraq before leaving the Army as Captain. She also served in the White House, both Chambers of Congress, and worked on political campaigns across the country before joining IAVA. Allison’s last stint on Capitol Hill was as Chief of Staff for Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos and served previously as Press Secretary for former U.S. Senator and decorated Vietnam veteran Jim Webb. Her previous roles at IAVA were as Chief of Staff and Director of Intergovernmental and Political Affairs.
Adam Clampitt, also a lifelong Washington fan, is an example of a successful veteran entrepreneur and community leader. He is a founder and president of the District Communications Group (The DC Group), a boutique public relations firm that serves federal contracts with the United States Departments of Veterans Affairs, Defense, Housing and Urban Development, Education, State, and U.S. Coast Guard and Small Business Administration. Prior to founding The DC Group, Clampitt was a recalled Navy Reserve officer serving in Afghanistan, where he worked for Gen. Stanley McChrystal as the director of public affairs planning and social media for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force. Clampitt is a commissioned reserve Public Affairs officer in the United States Navy.
USAA is the Official Military Appreciation Sponsor of the NFL and Super Bowl LII. Since 2011, USAA has worked closely with the NFL to elevate military appreciation efforts across the league and build awareness of USAA among military, culminating at the league’s marquee event – the Super Bowl.
