Read: RRRP Weekly Report June 9, 2017

In 2012, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America saw a need to create a safety net for transitioning veterans to connect them to the extensive, but often fragmented, network of support systems and resources available to them. The Rapid Response Referral Team has connected over 7,800 veterans to more than 9,100 resources. Unfortunately, the needs of today’s veterans remain high.

RRRP client quote of the week:

Continue doing what you are doing: you and IAVA are a type of “soldier” too, defending those that defended America. You are serving your country too, so thank you for your service to your country!

Trends:

Clients seeking financial assistance made up the bulk of new cases this week. While some of these inquiries were related to rent and housing and utilities, we had a significant increase in veterans looking for assistance keeping up with car and phone payments.  Clients also reached out seeking legal assistance as well.
