RRRP client quote of the week:
“[VTM] is a true pleasure to work with. Excellent human being and a great asset to your organization. She follows up and checks to ensure that the process is going as smooth as possible with the least amount of setbacks or delays. A TRUE PLEASURE!!! Thank you for everything [VTM].”

Trends:

RRRP has seen an uptick this week for inquiries related to VA disability claims, ranging from general guidance for initial claims, to specific questions related to appeals and denials. RRRP continues to receive GI Bill inquiries from veterans seeking guidance for Voc Rehab and post 9/11 benefits. Emergency financial assistance needs continue to dominate requests, as many clients are struggling with basic need costs like rent, mortgage, utilities, and vehicle repairs, with an uptick in requests for holiday assistance. RRRP continues to receive requests for employment support and clients continue to report that they are struggling to find employment due to underlying service-connected mental health issues. We’ve also been contacted by veteran family members seeking assistance for the entire family for medical care, tuition assistance and housing.

Referral Partner Highlight: Pen Fed Foundation’s Military Heroes Fund
Pen Fed Foundation’s Military Heroes Fund provides wounded veterans, military families, and caregivers with financial assistance to help fill the critical gap that exists for many veterans when transitioning back to civilian life. The foundation focuses its support for our warriors that struggle with financial hardship while also experiencing physical and psychological challenges. Through their partnership with ClearPoint, they also provide the crucial and often overlooked financial counseling component to match any cash assistance they are able to provide. Pen Fed Foundation’s Military Heroes Fund provides additional support for military caregivers by assisting with childcare costs while wounded veterans in their care receive medical services, whether at the VA or the private sector. Furthermore, Pen Fed provides monetary assistance for veterans engaged in short-term training or education towards job certification which can be spent on course materials and books. This wonderful organization continues to provide essential resources for RRRP clients and has successfully intervened to help keep our clients and their families housed, prevented utility shut-offs and stepped in to assist with auto and insurance payments, thus greatly contributing to their overall financial well-being.
