Read: RRRP Weekly Report April 28, 2017

In 2012, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America saw a need to create a safety net for transitioning veterans to connect them to the extensive, but often fragmented, network of support systems and resources available to them. The Rapid Response Referral Team has connected over 7,900 veterans to more than 9,100 resources. Unfortunately, the needs of today’s veterans remain high.

RRRP client quote of the week:

“[VTM] was a joy to work with.  She explained the mission of the IAVA program to me and was so helpful in communicating what I would be able to expect.  She was wonderful about advocating my needs for my particular situation; she was understanding, empathetic, and resourceful.  I would recommend working with [VTM] to everyone.  She is absolutely wonderful.

Trends:

Clients seeking emergency financial assistance made up the bulk of new cases. This is followed by veterans seeking access to mental health services, employment assistance and housing resources. Veterans continue to reach out seeking help accessing their education benefits.
