Read: Weekly RRRP Round-up November 16
IAVA’s Rapid Response Referral Program (RRRP) works with veterans and families across the nation providing critical support, guidance and linkages to on the ground resources. RRRP is staffed by masters-level Veteran Transition Managers (VTMs) that work on the front lines every single day, ensuring our nation’s heroes and their families have the support that they need and have earned.
It’s been an incredibly busy week and the RRRP team continues to provide top notch services to clients. Caseloads are high and client needs are complex and urgent. Even so, RRRP team members are engaging in professional development opportunities, speaking with the media and writing blogs:
- Client quote of the week: “You’re the one person I always know I can call and you won’t leave me hanging. Thank you for never making me feel like I’m a burden when I reach out for help.” Learn more by checking out RRRP’s latest Weekly Impact Report
- We’ve seen an uptick in veterans reaching out in financial crisis due to GI Bill payment issues. Learn more by reading a blog by clicking here
- IAVA was quoted in a piece from the Connecticut Health I-Team regarding PTSD, barriers to care and the nation’s lack of focus on this issue. Check it out by clicking here.
- RRRP VTMs continue to enhance skills and engage in professional development opportunities. This week a VTM attended a training put on by the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) about “Relaxation Meditation to Ease the Anxiety, Stress & Tension of Grief”.
- Another VTM attended a National Association of Social Workers (NASW) training about “Transforming our Approaches With Families Affected by Substance Abuse”. These trainings enhance VTM skills and enable our team to provide the best possible services to veterans and their families who reach out for help.
