Referral Partner Highlight: Modest Needs
Modest Needs is a non-profit organization which was founded in 2002 and provides financial assistance to individuals and families experiencing temporary financial crisis. Modest Needs’ mission is to provide assistance to people that are working and live just above the poverty line, thus falling in the window of ineligibility for most types of conventional social service assistance. Modest Needs targets their support for this population because these individuals and families are still struggling financially, despite being unable to access other programs, and are on the brink of financial calamity that often eventually results in homelessness. Modest Needs intervenes to prevent homelessness and long-term financial instability and also lessens the burden of state and federal agencies and programs that provide funding for those falling below the poverty line. Modest Needs provides financial assistance through donors who generously provide funds for clients in need, with priority given to veterans and active duty members, public school teachers and first responders. RRRP has referred 74 clients to this amazing program, many of whom had nowhere else to turn for help and Modest Needs was there to assist.
