Read: Weekly RRRP Impact Report – August 10, 2016
IAVA’s Rapid Response Referral Program (RRRP) is our best in class one-on-one case management and referral service program. In 2012, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America saw a need to create a safety net for transitioning veterans to connect them to the extensive, but often fragmented, network of support systems and resources available to them. The Rapid Response Referral Team has connected over 7,000 veterans to more than 8,150 resources. Unfortunately, the needs of today’s veterans remain high.
“My experiences with RRRP and my assigned case manager were extremely helpful. She knew exactly what to do to help me. She suggested many options that I could investigate, which I did, and the outlook of me finishing my BA in social work looks much brighter. So I want to personally thank my VTM for her exceptional assistance in guiding me to the right resources which I’m now taking advantage of. You’re the best at what you do. Thanks.”
Trends:
Homelessness and housing continue to be urgent concerns, as is mental illness and supporting family members with a veteran’s mental illness and finding appropriate mental health resources for our clients. Veterans continue to reach out for help with employment, and the Institute for Career Development is a new partner in New York City providing hands-on job search assistance.
