The next Democratic presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders takes place tonight at the Whiting Theater in Flint, Michigan and two days ahead of Michigan’s March 8 primary. In partnership with local news organizations, MLive and The Flint Journal, CNN will host and broadcast the debate at 8p.m. EST.

Earlier this week, the candidates faced off in the eleven-state Super Tuesday contest. Hillary Clinton won seven of those states, while Bernie Sanders won four.  And, just yesterday Clinton won the Louisiana primary as Sanders was victorious in Kansas and Nebraska.

Flint, Michigan — the debate’s site — has recently drawn national attention, with both Clinton and Sanders calling attention the city’s toxic drinking-water crisis.

The state of Michigan is home to approximately 658,500 veterans, comprising 8.5 percent of its voting age population. Read more about the issues IAVA is asking the candidates to make a priority as well as a snapshot of related election info at “IAVA Votes.”

Bernie Sanders received scrutiny last month regarding his leadership of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee during the scandal at the VA, but some veterans are also rallying behind his efforts on behalf of those who served. And, despite criticism from scores of foreign policy experts, a recent article suggests that many veterans would vote for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton if the race came down to the two in November.

Domestic issues such as gun control are expected to be hot topics in tonight’s debate, but there’s often an X factor like Sanders’ recent out of the blue attack on Clinton’s’ foreign policy views and her fondness of Henry Kissinger. And, in the event that veterans and national security issues are completely overlooked–fear not! Fox News will now be hosting a town hall in Detroit at 6PM tomorrow featuring the two Democratic candidates.

Enjoy the show tonight!
