Read: The Week in RRRP: IAVA’s Premiere Transition Assistance Program (2)
As of this week, IAVA’s Rapid Response Referral Program (RRRP), has helped 3,250 veterans and family members with transition-related issues.
In the last week, RRRP has responded to an average of 8 new requests for support per day, totaling 42 new cases this week. The majority of this week’s requests were related to financial assistance, homelessness, support for military families, disability claims, and education. This brings our total number of referrals up to 4,786 and benefits received up to 924.
Veterans and family members who use RRRP report high levels of stress when they first reach out to us – averaging 4.35 on a 1-5 scale in which 5 is the highest level of stress. After using RRRP’s services, clients report a decrease in their stress level of 1 point – about 20%. That may be in part thanks to the outstanding service provided by RRRP’s team of Veteran Transition Managers (4.5 out of 5 average rating) and the quality of the programs to which we’re referring (4.1 out of 5 average rating).
One of the veterans that RRRP has supported is Ben Robles. Ben explains his experience: “The Rapid Response Referral Program (RRRP) provided me with prompt professional support, and walked me through the difficult process of requesting essential service related documents. My transition manager was informed and answered all my questions. She also followed up to ensure my issue was resolved. I would recommend the Rapid Response Referral Program (RRRP) to any Veteran or family member that is seeking veteran-specific resources.”
Veterans and family members needing transition assistance can call 1-855-91-RAPID or email transition@iava.org. Everything is free, confidential, and paperwork-free.
