Read: IAVA Members Showcase Leadership at Voto Latino Power Summit
Recently Voto Latino held its annual Power Summit in Las Vegas, NV and it was generous enough to provide IAVA members in the Las Vegas area complementary tickets to attend the event. Voto Latino is a civic media organization founded by Maria Teresa Kumar and Rosario Dawson that seeks to engage, educate, and empower Latino millennials.
As stated by Voto Latino Director of Partnerships Dennis Gonzalez, “Voto Latino wanted IAVA members to participate in the summit so that the Voto Latino community could learn more about the leadership qualities veterans bring to society, and also to provide IAVA members the opportunity to learn more about the issues that are important to Latino millennials.”
IAVA team leader, Bruno Moya, led a team of 8 members during the summit, which included discussions by prominent Latino activists and keynote speakers Diane Guerrero, Wilmer Valderramo, and Tracy Perez. Overall, the IAVA members in attendance found the experience inspiring and came away with renewed confidence in the leadership qualities that they can bring to society.
