Read: IAVA forces veterans issues to the forefront
In the last several weeks, IAVA has once again shown its ability to keep veterans and their families in the forefront of the nation’s mind. In particular, IAVA has taken to the airwaves as a leader in the conversation around veterans. Below are just a few highlights in our efforts to discuss veterans issues in a constructive way.
IAVA Founder and CEO, Paul Rieckhoff was recently profiled by We Are The Mighty, a site dedicated to highlighting news, information and stories about military service. This piece showcased the hard work IAVA is doing every day to celebrate, empower and unite post-9/11 veterans.
IAVA has also contributed heavily to the discussion surrounding Gold Star families and the sacrifice military families make. IAVA led the way in elevating this national conversation on Fox News’ The Kelly Files, MSNBC’s Mitchell Report, CNN Newsroom with Carol Costello , MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show and The Daily Beast.IAVA continues to inform the public about the important perspective veterans have in our the political process, as shown in comments made to The Hill on the subject.
In such a time of division, IAVA is also proud to have signed on to open letters in The Washington Post and The New York Times to politicians from both sides of the aisle ensuring veteran’s issues are more than political applause lines.
There is much more to fight for so stay tuned to see what is next!
