The IAVA team continued the fight on Tuesday to Defend the GI Bill with work on Capitol Hill by our team here in DC and by IAVA member advocates across country. The cut to the GI Bill within the Senate’s veterans omnibus bill is still a looming threat and many Senators think this fight is over and done with. IAVA begs to differ and we will continue our work to Defend the GI Bill.

 

Advocacy Team:

• Followed up with Senators who have serious concerns with the Senate veterans omnibus bill. Working to coordinate efforts to defend the Post-9/11 GI Bill from cuts.

• Set up NGIB  meeting with Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL-12)

Member Advocacy:

• 39 Voter Voice messages sent out by our members today
• NGIB campaign Voter Voice total stands at 30,171
