In 1916, The National Guard Act was signed into law, increasing the number of National Guardsmen to 450,000. Likewise, our own militia of IAVA soldiers, our members and supporters, have been working tirelessly to #DefendTheGIBill. Some highlights from last Friday:

• Set-up meetings with 5 congressional offices.

• IAVA Founder and CEO Paul Rieckhoff gave an interview to the Washington Post on President Obama’s record on the Post-9/11 GI Bill and other veteran issues.

Member Advocacy:

• 30 grassroots IAVA member messages sent out to Capitol Hill offices since Friday.
• Defend the GI Bill campaign grassroots IAVA member message total stands at 30,713.
