Media Advisory: IAVA to Release Groundbreaking Veterans Survey
WASHINGTON (May 23, 2016) — Tuesday, May 24, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) will release its 7th Annual Member Survey and launch its innovative online research portal at IAVA’s second “On the Ground” panel sponsored by Retail Ready Career Center. The IAVA Member Survey is the most comprehensive survey of post-9/11 veterans in recent history. Unlike any other study in America, respondents have had their military service confirmed by IAVA. Data for the 7th Annual Member Survey was collected from 1,501 respondents in the first half of 2015.
During the panel, IAVA will highlight data related to its and discuss how data is leveraged to create effective advocacy campaigns. IAVA is currently conducting a national advocacy campaign titled #DefendTheGIBill aimed at defending proposed congressional cuts to the Post-9/11 GI Bill. As reported in IAVA’s Member Survey, defending veterans education benefits is a top priority for the post-9/11 veteran community along with: combatting suicide among troops and veterans; fully recognizing and supporting women veterans; and, reforming government to meet the needs of today’s veterans.
