IAVA Partners with VA Office of Connected Care to Empower Veterans Through Technology
NEW YORK, NY (February 1, 2018) — Today, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the leading non-partisan Post-9/11 veterans empowerment organization, will host a Q&A on Facebook Live with the Veterans Health Administration’s Office of Connected Care at 12:00pm ET. The Veteran Health Administration (VHA) is the health care arm of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the Office of Connected Care aims to expand veterans’ access to care using technology. The Facebook Live event, hosted on IAVA’s Facebook page, is open any veterans who want to learn more about their health care options.
The discussion, between IAVA Chief Policy Officer Melissa Bryant and Chief Officer of VHA’s Office of Connected Care Dr. Neil Evans, will focus on promoting VA’s connected health care tools for veterans. During the event, viewers will learn about mobile apps for better health, video appointments and much more.
“IAVA is excited to partner with the Veterans Health Administration and the Office of Connected Care to bring attention to the growing technology available to veterans and their families through VA,” said Melissa Bryant, Chief Policy Officer of IAVA. “IAVA has worked for over a decade to be a technology-forward organization, growing to meet the needs of the changing face of veterans in America. We are encouraged to see how VA is working to incorporate easier, more accessible tools to veterans and are excited to participate in this Facebook Live event to share these tools with our members. And we’re empowering our members to ask questions and raise concerns.”
