IAVA Partners with the League of Women Voters of the City of New York to Host Live Event on Veteran Civic Engagement

New York, NY – On Monday, June 14th, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) will partner with the League of Women Voters of the City of New York (LWVNY) to host a live event on the June primary, voter rights, and how veterans can get involved.
Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Butler will be joined by Diane Burrows, Co-President of the League of Women Voters of the City of New York to discuss civic issues facing citizens in New York.
“Voting is an embodiment of the rights we fight for as servicemembers,” said Jeremy Butler, CEO of IAVA. “It’s an honor to partner with the League of Women Voters of the City of New York to continue their incredible work in civic engagement.”
“Participating in elections poses some unique challenges for our servicemembers and veterans,” said Diane Burrows, Co-President, the League of Women Voters of the City of New York. “We are committed to providing the resources necessary to inform and engage veterans to vote with confidence.”
This event will cover the partnership between the LWVNY and IAVA, boosting civic engagement within the veteran community, election participation and changes to the New York primary race this month.
