IAVA hosts annual Fleet Week Luncheon and viewing event on Wednesday, May 23rd
NEW YORK, NY (MAY 22, 2018) Every year on the week before Memorial Day, IAVA members, partners, friends and supporters gather for the unofficial launch of summer and to pay tribute to the U.S. military at a fun and inspiring event in NYC.
Starting at 11:30am on Wednesday, May 23rd, at Pier A Harbor House in lower Manhattan, the 2018 IAVA Fleet Week luncheon event will bring together leaders in politics, media, advocacy, and the veteran community. “It’s an event that everyone will enjoy”, said IAVA founder and CEO, Paul Rieckhoff. “The Fleet Week Parade of ships is always an incredible sight to see–and an inspiring, patriotic, and educational family event.”
Hosted by celebrity guests Ron Perlman, Willie Geist, Bill Hemmer, and JW Cortez, attendees will enjoy great food and one of the best military displays of the year: the NYC Fleet Week Parade of Ships. During this annual spectacle, Navy and Coast Guard ships ceremoniously pass the Statue of Liberty and make their way up the Hudson River to deliver sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen to their berths for New York City Fleet Week.
Historic Pier A is a stunning setting on the edge of The Battery, blocks from all the NYC war memorials and Ground Zero, and just across the river from the Statue of Liberty. A family friendly affair, parents are encouraged to bring their children to share this awe-inspiring and educational experience.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.iava.org/fleetweek.
