Washington, DC – IAVA applauds the decision by Secretary McDonough to make COVID-19 vaccines mandatory for Title 38 VA health care personnel who work in Veterans Health Administration facilities, visit VHA facilities or provide direct care to those VA serves.
“The purpose of the VA is to provide the best possible care for our nation’s veterans and part of doing so means making sure that those who treat or come in contact with the veterans are not possibly putting them at greater risk,” said IAVA CEO Jeremy Butler. “Since the start of the pandemic, IAVA has pushed for the VA to maximize transparency about COVID treatment and, now that vaccines are available, to educate and expedite the delivery of vaccines to all. The faster we can do that, the faster we can defeat the coronavirus.”
