New York, NY – On Tuesday, June 28th, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) announced financial support to Minority Veterans of America, the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA) and SPARTA, to advance their work in the LGBTQ+ veteran space.
IAVA and the Board of Directors are proud to provide direct support through three $25,000 individual grants to each of these great organizations doing much-needed work for the LGBTQ+ veteran community. IAVA works to connect, unite and empower the veteran community and supports innovative programs that help all in our community to thrive.
“Since its inception, IAVA has been an advocate for the LGBTQ+ military and veteran community, and we are continually inspired by those who lead the fight for fairness and equality,” said Jeremy Butler, CEO of IAVA. “We are grateful for the incredible work done by Minority Vets, MMAA, and SPARTA to advocate, raise awareness, and move the needle so that our fellow LGBTQ+ veterans and servicemembers can serve our country without discrimination and with treatment equal to their non-LGBTQ+ counterparts.”
In recognition of Pride Month, and the ongoing need to fight for all who have chosen to fight for our country, IAVA encourages other organizations and individuals to join us and support these outstanding organizations.
