Friday at 11 AM: IAVA Presses Senate to Stand with Veterans in Combating Suicide
On final day of session, Post-9/11 veterans urge passage of Clay Hunt SAV Act
WHAT: Last night, in a speech in the U.S. Senate, Senator Richard Blumenthal committed to bringing the Clay Hunt SAV Act to the floor for a vote today, regardless of any procedural obstacles. Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) will join the Senator, other co-sponsors of the legislation, and veteran supporters in a final push to pass the needed veteran mental health care bill on the final day of session. The bill, which now has 19 Senate co-sponsors, is currently being anonymously held by one member of the Senate.
