While Cavalry Fly-In wrapped in early March, the advocacy didn’t stop there.

The week on Capitol Hill served as a powerful launch point, IAVA Cavalry members  continued to engage with congress in communities across the country. That sustained advocacy is what makes the veteran community’s voice so impactful.

Shortly after returning home, IAVA Cavalry member Jonathan Tennis carried that momentum forward. After meeting with congressional staff during Fly-In, he continued the conversation by participating in a roundtable with Congressman James Walkinshaw.

During the discussion, Tennis emphasized the importance of supporting service members as they transitioned to civilian life, protecting the benefits they earned, and preparing for the evolving military landscape that would shape a new generation of veterans in need of strong support systems.

It was a clear reminder that effective advocacy isn’t a one-time event, it’s an ongoing commitment.

We were proud to see Cavalry members continue to show up, speak out, and ensure the voices of veterans were heard well beyond Fly-In week
