Cavalry Fly-In 2026
What a powerful week of advocacy on Capitol Hill!
IAVA Cavalry Fly-In brought together veterans from across the country for an immersive experience rooted in education, empowerment, and action. Throughout the week, Cavalry Members and Fellows strengthened their advocacy skills, shared their experiences, and engaged directly with lawmakers to elevate the voices of the post-9/11 veteran community.
A key moment of the week came during the annual Veterans Service Organization (VSO) hearing. At the hearing, IAVA CEO, Dr. Kyleanne Hunter testified before the Joint Senate and House Committees on Veterans’ Affairs. This critical forum ensured that veterans’ priorities were formally entered into the congressional record, and reinforced the importance of coordinated, community-driven advocacy in shaping policy.

Cavalry Members met with staff members across both chambers of Congress, advocating on bipartisan priorities that impact veterans’ access to healthcare, economic opportunity, and overall well-being. We’re especially grateful to Congressman Jeff Crank and Senator John Fetterman for taking the time to engage directly with our members and discuss the issues that matter most to veterans and their families.
From meaningful conversations to impactful testimony, this week demonstrated the power of veteran voices in action. The IAVA Cavalry didn’t just participate in the legislative process, they helped shape it.
We’re proud of all who took part and look forward to continuing this momentum to drive meaningful change for the veteran community.
