Army Veteran Allison Jaslow Promoted to Executive Director
NEW YORK, NY (May 9, 2017) — Today IAVA formally announced the promotion of Allison Jaslow to IAVA’s Executive Director. In this new, expanded role, Allison will focus on policy, external communications, IAVA’s Washington DC operations and serve as our primary spokesperson for our #SheWhoBorneTheBattle campaign and other policy efforts. The following is a statement by IAVA Founder and CEO Paul Rieckhoff:
“Allison is one of the most important veteran leaders in America. Over the last few years, she has quickly established herself as an unparalleled force for our movement. We are excited to see and support all that she’ll accomplish on behalf of our cause in the critical years to come,” said Paul Rieckhoff, IAVA Founder and CEO, who will continue to lead overall operations for IAVA.
“I’m incredibly humbled by the confidence placed in me and honored to continue to work alongside so many dedicated colleagues that give an unparalleled voice to the Post-9/11 generation of veterans,” said Allison Jaslow. “I joined the staff of IAVA last year not just for the opportunity to advocate on behalf of our generation of veterans, but because we are extraordinarily effective at doing so. And, I’ve welcomed any opportunity in life to make the greatest impact for the greater good, which is again where I find myself today.”
Originally from Northern Virginia, Jaslow served two combat tours in Iraq as an Army Captain. She graduated from the University of Central Missouri, where she was a proud member of the Fighting Mules ROTC Battalion, and began her undergraduate study at Wentworth Military Academy and College in Lexington, Mo. Allison previously served as IAVA’s Chief of Staff and Director of Intergovernmental and Political Affairs.
