Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) was founded by and is run by post-9/11 veterans. Our mission is to CONNECT, UNITE, and EMPOWER this new generation of veterans. IAVA provides invaluable resources and empowers hundreds of thousands of veterans to connect with one another, fostering a strong and lasting community. Through education, advocacy and community building, we strive to create a country which honors and supports veterans of all generations.
IAVA is fully committed to efficient and sound financial management. Our goal is to ensure our programs are making the largest impact for as many veterans as possible, at the lowest costs. Since our founding, IAVA has followed our mission to CONNECT, UNITE, and EMPOWER veterans while being fiscally responsible to the thousands of individuals, foundations and corporate partners who generously support our mission. We believe it is important to note that our funding spent on “operations” is not waste. It goes to expenses like technology for our advocacy team, development of and maintenance for online programs like quickreactionforce.org, and to pay our phone bill so veterans can call IAVA when they are in crisis.
