Medical Marijuana

Research on the potential benefits of medical marijuana for treatment of some of the symptoms of the common injuries of these wars is lacking, largely because marijuana is classified and is classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance and is illegal under federal law. More states are passing laws to legalize the use of these drugs for medical purposes; yet, because the VA is a federal agency, even in states where medical marijuana is legal, there are challenges in veterans consulting with their doctors on the possible benefits of using medical marijuana to ease their symptoms.
