Washington, DC – Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) calls on leaders at the departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to provide clear and actionable information to military and veteran families about impacts to them  resulting from the reported months-long cyber espionage operation targeting America’s federal government.

“We recognize that there may be still much to learn in terms of the depth and severity of the cyber attacks on our government,” said IAVA CEO Jeremy Butler but America’s military and veteran families need to know now how their security and that of their private and personal information may have been compromised, so that they may take the necessary next steps to protect themselves.”

Further, IAVA calls on our leaders in the White House and in Congress to redouble national efforts to secure our federal state, local, and tribal governments, as well as the private sector, from future cyber attacks.

IAVA is the voice for the post-9/11 veteran generation. With over 400,000 veterans and allies nationwide, IAVA is the leader in non-partisan veteran advocacy and public awareness.
