IAVA Announces Facebook Live Event Featuring a Discussion on Voting and Issues Facing the Veteran Community

IAVA CEO, Jeremy Butler, will be joined by Mary Beth Bruggeman, President of The Mission Continues

New York, NY – Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America will host a Facebook Live event with The Mission Continues on Wednesday, September 30th at 1:00 pm ET. The event will discuss the importance of voting among the veteran community, voting initiatives led by both groups, The Mission Continues’ Operation Nourish Program, issues facing veterans, and more. There will be time allotted for viewers to ask questions throughout the event, which will be open to the press.

Jeremy Butler serves as IAVA’s Chief Executive Officer. Jeremy joined IAVA with 15+ years of experience providing substantive and strategic counsel to leaders in high-profile government and private sector offices, including the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security. He graduated from  Knox College with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and received a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. He is a Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy Reserve. Butler has recently contributed to Fox News, C-SPAN, Bold TV, Sirius XM, NY1 and other veteran and military media outlets.

Mary Beth Bruggeman graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Oceanography. She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps in May of that same year, and was assigned a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) as a Combat Engineer Officer. Mary Beth had 8 years of active duty experience as a Platoon Commander, Combat Executive Officer, and Company Commander with Marine Wing Support Squadron 373. Following those duties, she spent four years as the Marine Corps Account Manager at iRobot Corporation. She was selected as a scholar for the inaugural cohort of the George W. Bush Institute’s Stand To Veteran Leadership Program. She is a recent panelist and contributor for NationSwell, the Veterans Wellness Alliance, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
