Zach McIlwain

Zach served 8 years in the Army, finishing his service as an Infantry Platoon Sergeant. Zach served two tours in Iraq, quelling Sectarian violence in Baghdad through diplomacy, direct action, and target acquisition missions. Upon leaving the military, Zach utilized the Post 9/11 GI Bill, finishing his degree in Economics with Cum Laude Honors from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Zach now works in the banking sector, but his passion lies with helping veterans. He is a Leadership Fellow for IAVA, and serves on the Advisory Board of an animal rescue organization which is partnered with Pets for Patriots. Zach lives in Indianapolis with his wife Kristin.  Zach credits IAVA and his wife with his success, and devotes his time to ensuring veterans are given all the resources they need to successfully transition to civilian life
