Nik Mittal is an inactive Partner (inactive) at JANA Partners LLC, a multi-billion dollar event-driven investment firm and a leader in shareholder activism, where he helped direct the firm’s investment research for 12 years.
He began his career within the investment banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) before leaving to manage a small technology company. Nik received his JD/MBA in 1998 from NYU School of Law and NYU Stern School of Business, where he was a Stern Scholar. Prior to that, he received his B.A. in economics with honors and distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) in 1993.
He is a member of the NYU School of Law Board of Trustees, the Honors Carolina Advisory Board, Asia21, a network of emerging global leaders sponsored by the Asia Society and a founding board member of Success Academy Harlem 5 charter school. In 2019, he will be an adjunct professor at the NYU Stern School of Business.
