Kate Horner

As Programs Chief of Staff, Kate works closely with the Chief Program Officer to provide a strategic vision, and oversees staff and daily operations of IAVA’s field organizing and transition assistance programs. Prior to joining IAVA, Kate managed operations and programs for a small nonprofit serving seriously ill children and their families, and more recently, worked in grants and partnerships management with an international anti-human trafficking organization. She has worked on consulting teams to develop monitoring and evaluation tools and training materials for internationally-based public sector clients, and has served as a leader in grassroots organizing against human trafficking. Kate holds a Masters in Public Administration from NYU Wagner, a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University and a B.A. from George Mason University. She is the proud sister of a US Marine veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006.
