Courtney Gately

Title: Associate Director, Grants & Strategic Partnerships
At IAVA: Courtney joined IAVA in fall of 2021 as a grant writer, quickly becoming an essential member of the IAVA team. She assumed the role of Associate Director, Grants & Strategic Partnerships, in January 2023, and continues to apply her exceptional research and writing skills in support of IAVA’s mission while creating new and lasting partnerships within the philanthropic community.
Professional Background: Courtney has spent most of her career in nonprofit management supporting the veteran community, promoting economic self-sufficiency for disadvantaged women, and supporting children’s education in low-income areas. She has also worked within higher education as a development professional and an undergraduate adjunct.
More about Courtney: Courtney is the proud spouse of an Army veteran, bonus mom of one, a baking enthusiast, coffee connoisseur, home renovation amateur, and environmental law nerd.
Courtney holds a Bachelor’s in Agriculture from Kansas State University, a Master’s in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University in Boston, MA., and a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law (Gig ‘em!).
