Read: IAVA in Washington SITREP—February 26, 2018

Congress was out of town last week and the IAVA DC team used the slightly less frenetic pace to prepare for our upcoming Storm the Hill on March 4-7. During that time, IAVA members will ask Congress to support our “Big 6” advocacy priorities for 2018. If you are interested in attending next week or for one of our future Storm the Hill events, it’s not too late! You can sign up to join us in Washington, DC next week by clicking here.

While last week was a little quieter, our advocacy was still going strong. IAVA Intern Julie Howell published a blog on her love of the band Linkin Park in connection to the need for increased suicide awareness in the wake of the death of Linkin Park lead singer, Chester Bennington. The blog received terrific traction on social media, with Chester’s widow herself thanking IAVA for highlighting Chester’s legacy and her own work on suicide awareness.

Make sure to come back here for the latest updates. Next week’s Storm the Hill is going be one for the history books. We are #VetsRising!
