Read: Weekly RRRP Round-up June 21

IAVA’s Rapid Response Referral Program (RRRP) works with veterans and families across the nation providing critical support, guidance and connections to on the ground resources. RRRP is staffed by masters-level Veteran Transition Managers (VTMs) that work on the front lines every single day, ensuring our nation’s heroes and their families have the support they need and have earned. To date, RRRP has connected over 9,400 veterans and family members to more than 11,600 resources.

It’s been an incredibly busy week, as veteran needs remain high. RRRP continues to provide top notch services to clients, engage in advocacy work for our community and ensure that the impact of our work is heard:

  • 2019 YTD RRRP Impact Metrics: Served 369 clients and provided 696 referrals. Connected 45 veterans to the Veterans Crisis Line. Connected 99 veterans who were homeless or at-risk of homelessness with housing resources and financial assistance. Supported 63 female veterans and 34 family members.

  • Client Quote of the Week: “I don’t know how you did what you did but I cannot thank you enough!” Learn more by checking out RRRP’s latest Weekly Impact Report.

  • Sr. VTM, Vadim Panasyuk wrote an exceptional op-ed on GI Bill transferability issues that was published in the Military Times. When transferability screw ups happen they can have catastrophic impacts on the veteran and the entire family. It’s great timing for this important issue to get attention, as this weekend marks the 75th anniversary of the GI Bill.

  • VTM, Dennis Higgins wrote an incredible blog outlining the complicated relationship between classified information and seeking mental health treatment. This issue impacts many in our community who are hesitant to seek care, despite desperately needing it. Dennis clearly explains the confusing dynamic at play, shares his personal and professional perspectives and provides a pathway forward. Click here to read more.
