Read: ICYMI: IAVA Talking Memorial Day, Fleet Week, and Capitol Hill on the Radio

On Tuesday, I sat down with Steele & Ungar’s “Rational Radio” program on SIRIUS XM’s POTUS Channel to share with their listeners the important news affecting veterans: huge leadership changes at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Acting VA Secretary Robert Wilkie stepped down from his post and Deputy VA Secretary Tom Bowman is retiring come mid-June. That leaves a huge leadership vacuum at VA, even with Peter O’Rourke taking over as the Acting VA Secretary. O’Rourke previously served as Chief of Staff for the agency and as Executive Director for the Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection

And if this feels a little like a game of musical chairs, don’t worry, we feel it too. Listen in on the full interview with Steele & Ungar HERE:

With Memorial Day and Fleet Week right at our heels, I sat down with host Eric Dehm on ConnectingVets.com’s radio program to talk about our Memorial Day participation at Arlington National Cemetery, IAVA’s annual Fleet Week event, and all that’s swirling on Capitol Hill. Listen in HERE (I’m at the 51 minute mark):

My wife thinks I have a great face for radio, so hope to have more of these opportunities in the future!

Keep up with the whole IAVA DC Team on our Facebook and Twitter; and find out what I’m doing on Capitol Hill by following me on Twitter at @TomPorterDC.
