Ad Council Campaigns

IAVA and Ad Council

The Ad Council has been a vital partner to IAVA, helping us reach veterans nationwide to share our programs and allowing us to bring the veteran story to the forefront of the national conversation. With the help of advertising giant BBDO, we have put together successful campaigns to drive the national conversation around veterans.

2008: The Beginning

IAVA kicked off our relationship with the Ad Council with our iconic “Alone” PSA. This ad was so impactful that it has aired multiple times since launch.

2010

With two successful Ad Council campaigns under our belt, we enlisted the help of Whitman Strategies to specifically engage returning veterans and share the news of the launch of our Community of Veterans. Our campaign, along with a revamp of the “Alone” PSA which ran during the Super Bowl pregame, launched on Veterans Day 2010.

2017

For Veterans Day 2017, IAVA members and staff contributed to the Ad Council’s #LoveHasNoLabels campaign which asked veterans and service members from many backgrounds to share their experiences.
