CNN: Memorial Day 2012, Rieckhoff on unemployment and VA claims backlog

On Sunday, May 27, IAVA Founder and Executive Director Paul Rieckhoff appeared on CNN’s State of the Union with host Candy Crowley and Tim Tetz from the American Legion. Rieckhoff emphasized the need to help new veterans struggling to find work in a weak job market. A January 2012 survey of IAVA membership found veteran membership suffered from 17 percent unemployment. The VA claims backlog is also an unacceptable trend that must be reversed, Rieckhoff asserted.
