IAVA Partners with CB Richard Ellis
Posted by Christina Kim on September 23 2011

At 9.8 percent, the national unemployment rate for veterans is unacceptably high. IAVA is working to change that. By creating relationships with key corporate leaders, we're looking to give America’s New Greatest Generation the tools and skills they need to succeed to realize their full potential.

A significant stride in the fight against unemployment has just been made. IAVA is proud to announce a new partnership with CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest commercial real estate firm. CBRE has answered the call to serve our nation's veterans by creating a new mentorship program in the Washington, DC area. The program is designed to help vets who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan transition to the private sector.

Vets will be assigned an experienced mentor who will help them navigate the commercial real estate industry, understand the hiring process, and help secure interviews with CBRE and other firms. All mentors are volunteers and have expressed the desire to improve the lives of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans by supporting them as they transition from combat to career.

IAVA's partnership with CBRE is a unique opportunity for vets to partner with leaders at a Fortune 500 firm. This is a resume building experience that will lead to significant exposure in one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial industries in America.

Head over to The Rucksack to find out how to participate and get more information about the program! You will need to fill out a short online survey and submit a copy of your resume. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up today!
