On Wednesday, May 2nd, dozens of IAVA members and supporters united to march with Carry the Load and highlight the true meaning of Memorial Day. Carry the Load's route will travel 1,700 miles from West Point, NY to Dallas, TX in 27 days - allowing thousands of Americans to participate and remind the country what the national holiday is all about.
The dedicated IAVA contingent gathered in the early morning - in a rainy Central Park - to embark on a five-mile march which ended at IAVA HQ in midtown Manhattan.
Feeling inspired, several members of IAVA's group joined 9/11 families for the next five-mile segment as they marched towards the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
IAVA was honored to join Carry the Load in this historic and critical mission. Donate to Carry the Load here.
