IAVA Celebrates Football's Oldest Rivalry
December 13

On a brisk Saturday morning in early December, IAVA members gathered to celebrate the 112th meeting of the Navy Midshipmen and the Army Black Knights at Fed Ex Field in Maryland. IAVA celebrated football's oldest rivalry with a tailgate before the game, giving members a chance to stake their allegiances over hamburgers and hot dogs.
The game was tightly contested as Army tried to reverse a nine-year losing streak. The President - who presided over the coin toss- was carefully neutral in his support, splitting his time evenly between Army and Navy's sides of the field. The game came down to the wire, but Navy prevailed and won the series for the 10th year in a row with a 27-21 victory.
Get Involved
In just the last year, IAVA has connected hundreds of veterans with employers through innovative career fairs, helped over 10,000 veterans go to college on the New GI Bill, and provided mental health support to over 50,000 veterans—all at no cost to Member Veterans. Programs like these are only made possible through your generous support. Fight for those who fought for us and help us keep these resources and benefits completely free for new veterans and their families.
