IAVA Vets celebrate Super Bowl in Style
February 7

Just hours before Super Bowl XLVI kicked off, Miller High Life gave one lucky IAVA member the house party experience of a lifetime.

IAVA member Seth Williams gathered 14 friends and neighbors together at his home in Indianapolis to watch the big game between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants with a spread that truly celebrated the High Life!

Even though his hometown Colts suffered though a rough season, before kickoff Seth found himself invested in the outcome of the contest, wanting Big Blue to pull out the victory.

“I am a die-hard Colts fan, grew up with my Dad working on the sidelines and was able to go on the field as a kid,” Williams said. “So with that being said, I really can’t stand New England. GO GIANTS!!!!!!!”

Over the next few hours, Williams and his friends were treated to a well-played game that featured two heavyweights going back and forth for four quarters. All the while they sported stylish co-branded t-shirts, enjoyed pizza, wings and, of course, cold Miller High Life, all thanks to MillerCoors.

Giants quarterback Eli Manning eventually led a late charge that put New York up by four points with just minutes left in the game and Williams got his wish as the Giants held on after a Tom Brady hail mary fell harmlessly to the turf of Lucas Oil Stadium. The 21-17 victory marked the second time in four years that the Giants defeated the Pats in the Super Bowl.

Much fun was had at the Williams household and the guests were very thankful for the experience provided by IAVA and Miller.

“Everybody that attended wants me to express that they appreciate what the organization does and what the cause is for,” Williams said. “Thank to all the vets around the globe and thanks to Miller High Life!”

But that wasn’t the only IAVA event over the weekend in Indianapolis. The day before the Super Bowl, Miller High Life treated 50 IAVA members and their friends and families to an advance screening of the forthcoming action-adventure film “Act of Valor” which features active duty Navy SEALs.

And thanks to our friends at Maxim Magazine and the Graffiti of War Project, eight IAVA members were able to attend Maxim’s “Salute to Troops” pre-Super Bowl Tailgate Party outside Lucas Oil Stadium. The event featured live music, care package stations, lots of celebrity sightings and an appearance by Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

Party attendee and IAVA member Russell Silver tweeted his satisfaction with the event: “Great time at Maxim #SB46 Tailgate Party thx @iava!”
