FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   President Bush and Congress Dawdle While Veterans Continue to Suffer GAO Report Reveals Little Progress Made Since Walter Reed Crisis   NEW YORK - Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation's first and largest organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, issued the following statement in response to a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the inadequate response to revelations of shoddy outpatient treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   Walter Reed Fiasco Results in Positive Changes IAVA Applauds Congressional Actions to Address Problems Within Military Medical System   NEW YORK - The nation's first and largest organization for the veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, commends the House for passing H.R. 1538, the Wounded Warrior Assistance Act. Passed unanimously yesterday with bipartisan support, the bill seeks to correct the problems at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and other military health care facilities. The bill:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Group Calls for Investigation Into Problems at Walter Reed Hospital   NEW YORK - The nation's first and largest non-partisan organization representing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, IAVA, today called on members of Congress to review the actions of the Army and the Department of Defense at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., amid press reports that injured troops were returning from war only to face squalid living conditions and inadequate medical and mental health care at the facility.
