IAVA Unites Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans for Event in San Diego

March 11

SAN DIEGO, CA - Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the country's first and largest non-partisan, nonprofit organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, will host an event for hundreds of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans in the San Diego area on Friday, March 12th at the Red Circle Lounge, 420 E Street, San Diego, CA, from 6 to 9 PM PST. The event is the culmination of a week of activities and meetings with IAVA member veterans, media, strategic partners and local lawmakers throughout California. THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PRESS.

 


IAVA Joins with Microsoft on Bold Jobs Initiative

March 8

Washington D.C. - Today, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation's first and largest non-partisan, nonprofit organization representing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, joined Microsoft Corp. in support of the "Elevate America's Veterans" Initiative. The initiative will provide veterans and their spouses with the technical training and resources needed to be successful in today's workforce. It builds on Microsoft's broader "Elevate America" program to provide technology training and certification to help prepare people for the 21st-century workforce. IAVA will serve on a coalition of public, private and nonprofit organizations in an advisory role over the next 2 years.

 

 


IAVA Meets with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom

Today, Paul Rieckhoff, Founder and Executive Director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the country's first and largest non-partisan organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, met with Mayor Gavin Newsom to discuss the key issues impacting San Francisco's newest generation of veterans.

 


Blizzard Doesn't Stop Veterans from Storming the Capitol

Red Tape: Veterans Fight New Battles for Care and Benefits presents a clear snapshot of the huge obstacles facing our nation’s troops and veterans as they navigate the complicated and confusing military and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care and disability systems.

 


2010 Legislative Agenda Introduces IAVA’s Annual Storm the Hill Campaign

NEW YORK – Today, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation’s first and largest non-partisan organization representing veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, released its 2010 Legislative Agenda, a roadmap for Congress to address new veterans’ issues in the coming year. The agenda describes the issues IAVA will bring to Congress during its annual Storm the Hill trip in Washington, D.C. from February 6th – 12th.

High Profile Supporters, Veterans of All Generations Gather at IAVA's Third Annual Heroes Gala

NEW YORK - Last night, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation's first and largest nonpartisan, non-profit organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, hosted its Third Annual Heroes Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City. This inspiring event, timed to coincide with Veterans Day, brought together veterans of all generations, distinguished members of the veterans' community and IAVA supporters. More than 350 guests attended the Gala and helped raise more than 450,000 dollars.
