CNN: No Clear Frontlines for Women at War

IAVA Project Coordinator Jennifer Hunt, a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, discussed her experience at war in a CNN segment focusing on women in combat. As CNN reports, although official military policy prevents women from serving in units whose primary mission is to engage in direct combat, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have shown there are no clearly drawn frontlines. Hunt, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, is one of the estimated 668 women injured in combat. See IAVA’s issue report “ Women Warriors ” for a comprehensive review of the urgent service and homecoming issues facing female troops and veterans.
